Words dripping like sugar cane
As tender as can be
Sending thoughts out like tendrils
Fleeting feelings to see

Chasing dark dreams down
While hunting dark beasts
Slaying the demons
That once hunted me

A heart that's still beating
Beneath all the frost
A soul covered in scars now
From all that's been lost

Mind all but broken
Words all but gone
Sorrows and sadness
All but foregone

Tomorrow still coming
Yesterday is still here
The past blends with the future
And neither is clear

I love how you tell such a good story in your poetry and poems. So touching and emotional.

This started as one thing and then went off on it’s own. My rhymes don’t always cooperate. Such unruly little things they are….
